Martin Plowman has successfully mediated over a thousand cases, and has been ranked in the top three mediators in the United Kingdom by the independent National Mediator Database for the last ten years. He is also a student of Zen, and attributes much of his success as a mediator to his Zen practice.
In this workshop Martin shares the mediation techniques and Zen wisdom that have underpinned his work as a mediator. We consider the Buddha's Four Noble Truths, hear about a man with 83 problems, visit the insights of the philosopher T E Hulme, meet Schrödinger's cat, learn to consider litigation as a Probability Wave, and finally meet the mediator's enemy: deadlock, and find that it turns out to be the mediator's friend.
Martin can tailor this course to fit in one or up to four sessions, and much of the material derives from his acclaimed book, Zen and the Art of Mediation. Something completely different!
